August "Auggie" Dale Barbosa

August Dale Barbosa, 69, of Groves passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, surrounded by his family. August was born December 14, 1947, in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Cruz Barbosa and Mary Alice Martinez Barbosa. Mr. Barbosa served in the United States Army. He never met a stranger and was always there to help others. August loved Bob Dylan songs, Harley Davidson motorcycles and never drank his coffee without his favorite Seaport coffee mug. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law.

August is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Barbosa; sons, Richard Bienvenue, Jr., and his wife, Chrissy, and Robert Joseph Bienvenue, III and his wife, Melissa; brothers, Bobby Barbosa and his wife, Pat, Salvador Barbosa and Pete Barbosa; sisters, Dolly Dack, Cookie Merriman and Margaret Orlando and her husband, Don. Mr. Barbosa also leaves behind grandchildren, Ethan Paul Bienvenue, Kayln Marie Bienvenue and numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memories.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, December 8, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Barbosa will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
