Survived by loving wife, Violet of almost 48 years; children, Mike (Carrie-Ann), Michelle (Dave); Grandchildren, Tyler (Chantal), Shayleen, Jaden & Cole; great grandchildren Adriana and Aubree.
As a heavy duty mechanic, John’s early career spanned involvement with several logging companies until finally owning and operating his own shop J. Cox Repairs, where he was well known among the logging community. A hard worker all his life, he kept himself busy even after retirement. People were drawn to him and he was a man who had the unique talent for making life time friends. He really enjoyed spending time with “the guys” having coffee. John loved to travel and when not RV’ing down south for the winter, he went to Hawaii, Fiji, the Caribbean, the Panama, and Australia. He enjoyed fishing with his son at Great Central Lake and loved the water.
He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by so very many.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Best Western Barclay, 4277 Stamp Ave., Port Alberni., BC
In lieu of flower donations in John’s memory may be made to Ty Watson House/Hospice Foundation, 2649 – 2nd Ave, Port Alberni, BC., V9Y1Z8 or the BC Cancer Society, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 6V5.
