Jack moved to Port Alberni in June of 1955 and started to work at the Alberni Plywoods until 1963 then to the Pulp Mill until 1976 and then to the City of Port Alberni Works Department until his retirement in 1999. Retiring at 60 he began his passion of working with wood and building and finishing homes and cabins. He was a ‘Jack of all trades’ and helped out ever so many people over the next several years. His love of family, travelling, going to Bluejay games, golfing down south and bowling were his other passions.
Jack is predeceased by his son Tim in 2006.
Survived by his loving wife Sharon of 36 years, daughters Barbara (Dean), Claudine and son Robert; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; beloved brother Bob (Marj) and sisters Margaret and Marilyn; also many friends and relations across Canada and the US.
A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at a later date.
