Paula grew up in Poplarville, MS. She attended Poplarville High School where she fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Allen. After proudly graduating from the University of Mississippi, Paula and Allen married. They were happily together for 42 years. They raised 3 wonderful children that she absolutely adored and cherished: Matthew, Scott, and Whitney.
Paula taught school for 25 years and shared her passion for learning with hundreds of children over this time. She was loved and admired by her colleagues and students.
After retiring, Paula became a full time Mimi. Her five granddaughters, Rylee, Macy Claire, Harper Kate, Anna Scott, and Caroline were the light of her world. She took such joy in sewing and making beautiful things for her sweet grand babies. She always made sure any time spent at Mimi and Pop’s house was filled with laughter, fun, and memories that will never be forgotten. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends, especially during Christmas. She would spread the magic from the oldest to the youngest with her many decorations and wonderful gift wrapping displays.
Paula was a creative, fun loving, and free spirit. She never ceased to amaze her family with all of her many talents. She wasn’t afraid to try any new hobby or tasks, and would excel at all of them. She loved spending time baking and decorating beautiful cakes and cookies. Paula and Allen enjoyed finding TV series and movies to watch together. She could be found happily coloring in her recliner next to Allen. Paula stayed in constant contact with her family and friends. Often she could be found sitting on the back porch chatting on the phone for hours. Her laughter and smile were so contagious. To know Paula, Mom, Mimi was to love her.
Paula will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Paula was preceded in death by her sister Pam. She is survived by her husband, Allen, her three children, Matthew (wife Tabitha), Scott (wife Jessica), and Whitney (fiancé Tatum Trantham) and her five grandchildren, Rylee, Macy Claire, Harper Kate, Anna Scott, and Caroline. She is also survived by her parents, stepfather, and Allen’s parents, her two sisters, Trish and Porsha and two brothers, John and David.
Family and friends are invited to attend Paula's visitation on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at White Funeral Home 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
