Nellie Ruth Robbins

Nellie Ruth Russell Robbins, age 91, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Magnolia Place Personal Care Home in New Albany. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She had a strong faith, enjoyed her flowers and spending time with her family.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Oak Dale Baptist Church with Rev. J.W. Owen officiating and Rev. Mark Galloway will assist, burial will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband: Clay Robbins, her two daughters: Delores Mason (Mel) of Paducah, KY and Miriam Staten (Rex) of Pontotoc, MS; her son: Jerry Russell (Barbara) of Pontotoc, MS; her eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Amory and Donna Williams Hale, the father of her children: Lyson Russell, two sisters: Wyrene Hale and Winnie Hicks and three brothers: Hazel Hale, Alvin Hale and Charlie Hale.

Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Salmon, Gary Mason, Neel Dean, Jeff Shepherd, Gary Richardson and Steven Wooten.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and from 12 to 2 Thursday at Oak Dale Baptist Church.
