Robert “Bob” Connolly, age 80, of Pompano Beach passed away July 23 after a long health battle. Originally from Milburn, NJ, Bob’s family relocated to South Florida in 1954. After graduating from the UF School of Forestry, Bob worked alongside his father (Gordon) and mother (Betty) to help build Gordon P. Connolly Construction and Tropical Airways. Bob was a passionate RV traveler who enjoyed American history, John Wayne westerns, camping at Disney, rich conversations, and spending time with family and friends. His faith in Jesus was a comfort to him throughout his life. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Arlene, daughter Christy (Dave), son Ben, stepdaughter Stacey (Bill), brother Joe, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Bob’s memory to the Friends of the Lighthouse Point Library, the American Heart Association, or the National Kidney Foundation.
