Uncle Bob,
I, too, had no idea that you passed. You were such a wonderful man with a heart of gold. You were such a loving brother to my mom Bette, and I will never forget the beautiful flowers that you sent to her memorial service in June of 2016.  You said when I told you that she had passed, “ My little sister?”.  One of my first memories is of our family trip to New Jersey when I was 4. I remember falling into your pool, and having to be fished out. When I was in high school you and Aunt Ruth let me and a friend spend some time at your house during Spring break. Certainly, one of my fondest memories was the Coleman family reunion that we had at my home in Illinois in the early 2000s. Rest In Peace Uncle Bob, and soar with the eagles. Please give my son, Brian, my mom, dad, and my brother, Steve, big hugs from me.

OMG, why didn't he let us know 😭 Thats terrible 💔 Almost all of my favorite memories from my summers in Florida as a kid was Uncle Bob pulling upto the dock at grandma and grandpa's house and taking us out on the boat for HOURS.

Uncle Bob,  I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for your service, but I didn’t know you passed.  I happened upon this obituary last night and am so sad to see no memories posted, but none of us knew.  The fact of the matter is that you are survived by many nieces and nephews across the country who all have fond memories of our beloved Uncle Bob.

Uncle Bob was a Colonel in the Army, worked at RCA for many years and was part of the team that developed the first lunar module to land on the moon.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth A. Coleman and daughter, Barbara Kuzemchak. 

My mom was Ruth’s sister and best friend.  Growing up in the 70’s, our families spent every Thanksgiving and New Year’s together in New Jersey.  We also spent many summer days on Uncle Bob’s boat affectionately named after his Mom, Nora.

In 1979, my parents moved to Florida and Uncle Bob and Aunt Ruth moved down a couple years later.  We lived 30 minutes from each other, but that was too far for my Mom.  In 1986, my parents moved 2 blocks away from Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob in Pompano Beach.  We saw them almost every day.  They would come over for BBQ’s, birthdays and holidays.  They would stop in for a cocktail at the end of the day.  Strong in his faith, I asked Uncle Bob to do the readings at my wedding in 1989.

As our kids grew up, they were also close to Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bob.  After Aunt Ruth passed away in 2010, my son Ryan would ask if we could visit Uncle Bob.  I’m so glad we did.  We took him out to dinner a couple times and talked about the good old days.  Ryan tragically passed away in 2018, it was a very dark time for my family.  I didn’t have the heart to tell Uncle Bob and stopped visiting.  I regret not seeing him the last couple of years, but I feel comfort in knowing knowing Uncle Bob is at peace, together with Ruth, Barbara, my parents and my Ryan.
