Martha Roberta Orth , 95, of Plantation, left this earth peacefully to be in heaven on Friday, August 5, 2011. Martha was born in 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was there that she was raised, married and started her family. She married George Philip Orth in 1933 and they enjoyed 60 years of wonderful marriage until his death in 1993. Together they had 2 children, Phyllis Stanton and Kenneth. She moved to Florida in 1960. Her life was devoted to the church and to sharing God’s word with all who would listen. She was an active member of many churches over the years, including, Holy Sacrament, St. Benedicts, St. Nicholas and St. Martin-in-the-Fields. She was a member of The Daughters of the King, Episcopal Church Women and she was an early participant in the Episcopal Diocese Cursillo. She is survived by her children, Phyllis, Kenneth and his wife Pamela, as well as by her grandchildren. She was blessed to have 5 grandchildren, Dean Stanton (wife, Terry and children, Samantha and Shannon), Gwyn Tipping, Kim Baston, Ken and Kevin (wife, Audra), and 6 great grandchildren, Richard, Zachary, Nicole, and the triplets, Christopher, Emma and Joshua. And by many more in her extended family and friends. For Martha, life was a journey and heaven is her reward. She rejoiced and gave thanks every day, and she is surely now in a place where she has always strived to be…in God’s Kingdom of Heaven! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Pompano Beach, Florida. A funeral service has been scheduled for 10:00am Tuesday, August 9th at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Pompano Beach. Arrangements were made by: Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 200 N.
