John "Jack" Robinson, age 82, of Margate, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Jack was born November 23, 1939 in Red Bank, NJ. Jack is survived by his children Jack Jr., Keith, & Heather (son in-law Jonah); his younger siblings Patricia & Kenneth; his grandchildren Jessica, Nicholas, Anthony, & Bailee; and his 3 ex-wives Marcy, Laraine, & Jean. Jack passed away on the dance floor that night doing what he absolutely loved the most - "jitterbugging." He also had an amazing golf game that same morning with his friend. He was definitely living his best life doing his two favorite activities on his final day. Jack left this world the way he exactly would have wanted to. He is now reunited with his beloved mother (Nanny) and his son Scotty (after 28 years). Jack not only enjoyed golfing and dancing, but he absolutely loved singing and listening to music - his favorite singer of all time is Johnny Mathis who sings his favorite song "Begin the Beguine." Jack worked as an insurance adjuster for most of his life and once owned an auto body shop in Red Bank, NJ as a younger man. He loved running track in his younger years and won several ribbons and medals for his talent (he even tried out for the Olympics right after high school for track). Anyone who knew Jack and went out to dinner with him knew he was very particular with his food choices. The Jack Robinson menu is as follows: "nothing spicy" - "real" turkey & gravy with "real" mashed potatoes ("not the box stuff, no turkey roll"), hot open turkey sandwiches, house salad with iceberg lettuce only, spaghetti with meat sauce on the side and wonder bread with butter, or rare hamburgers (sometimes for breakfast too). Jack loved his sweets too - he always found room for devil dogs, Entenmann's donuts, Kit Kats, or Carvel soft-serve chocolate ice cream on a sugar cone with a can of coca cola, cream soda, or root beer. And let's not forget Jack's love for 24-hour diners and Wendy's chicken sandwiches. Jack never drank alcoholic beverages or smoked in his life but he did like to dabble in sports betting and go to the racetrack (or take his children to OTB back in the day haha). Jack's given day would include reading the daily newspaper, working on his daily crossword puzzle (which he would always complete), playing golf, engaging in some sports betting, singing (in the car & randomly in public), dancing ("jitterbugging"), and watching a lot of TV (from sports to detective TV shows to sitcoms like Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Two and a Half Men). He never left home without his Chapstick (the classic original flavor). Anyone who knew Jack knew he was always the life of the party, a loyal friend, always the first one to offer help or assistance (especially car rides or airport pickups), and the most generous person who would give his last shirt on his back for his loved ones.
