Balfour, George, 75 of Lauderdale Lakes passed away on November 3, 2014. Born in Glasgow, Scotland George has been a resident of Florida for over 30 years. He spent six years in the British Merchant Navy traveling across the globe and visiting many continents and countries. When he returned to Scotland he began working for Mine Safety Appliances, and eventually supervised the Quality Control Division which tested guided missile systems. When he emigrated to the United States George began working for Borrell Systems installing fire suppression systems and eventually began testing their reliability. When the company was sold, George and his colleagues branched out on their own and began" Safe Fire Protection". Most of George's clients followed him to the new company where he always gave 110% to his customers. He worked as an electrical Engineer for Safe Fire until recently, when he lost the good fight against Mesothelioma. George will always be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, dedication to his family, his heritage, and to his everlasting love of golf. Undoubtedly, he shall be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Rosanne Balfour Children; daughters, Aileen Vosatka and Lesley Kennedy, Stepson; Curtis R. Douglas, Grandchildren; Katlyn Kennedy, Austin Kennedy, Kenzy Vosatka, Ethan Douglas, Isabella Douglas, and Tyler Douglas. Sisters; May Robertson of Margate, Florida, and Anne Watson of East Kilbride, Scotland. Brothers-in-law; Bill Robertson, Walter Watson, Rocco M.J. Pisani, and Paul Blais. Sisters-in-law; Marcia Blais and Sheila Pisani ,Nieces; Catherine Webster, Elaine McCulloch, Lynn McCartney, and Lorraine Robertson.Nephew; Stephen Watson, Mother and Father in law; Rocco and Olympia Pisani. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 3-5PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a memorial service to begin at 5PM. A reception is to immediately follow services also at the chapel. (200 W.
