Esther Maria Diaz

It is with great regret that we report the passing of Mrs. Esther Diaz on Friday May 30 at 4 pm surrounded by her loved ones in North West Broward Medical Center in Florida, where she had been admitted for four days with a heart condition which sadly failed to pass. Esther Diaz was born in Havana Cuba a November 21, 1921 to a family of 7 brothers and sisters one of whom Lázara Bringuier who she is survived by. On April 5, 1947 she married Jose Diaz Anglada (now deceased) , with whom she started a family with in 1948 with the birth of her son Joseph "Joe" Diaz .

In 1961 with the advent of communist rule on the island of Cuba the Diaz family emigrated to America and settled in the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey. In Elizabeth she started over since she had been a homemaker all her adult life. She worked in Libby Shops , Capitol Lighting and Alpha Wire, among others, were she cultivated many friendships. It was very easy to take more than fondness and affection from her affable and generous character, supplementing her spontaneous and contagious smile. Even years after the death of her husband she continued to reside in Elizabeth until 2000 when she moved to Florida with her son Joe .

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7 , at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2000 on West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Florida ( 33064 ) from 11 am to 1 pm The memorial service will be the same Saturday from 1 to 2 pm at the Chapel of Forest Lawn Mausoleum , phone ( 954) 784-4000.
