Edward was born in the Bronx, New York to Alejandro Franqui and Carmen Sanchez on February 28, 1951. He went to school in the Bronx, NY. He married Alane Findler on September 9, 1972 in Wappingers Falls, NY. He worked as a Machinist for MTA Metro North Railroad for over 22 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era and served in the Navy Reserves for 7 years.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Alex, Jose, Richard, Angel and one sister, Maria.
Edward is survived by his spouse of 51 years, Alane, a son, Michael and daughter, Elizabeth; his granddaughter, Payton; sister, Elsie Caraballo (Sam); brother Gilbert; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens North, Pompano Beach, Fl. Arrangements are by Kraeer Funeral Home.
The family of Edward wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the spinal cord unit, the home care team, llAB and11CD of the Miami VA Medical Center for all the care and help that was given to Eddie and Alane during this difficult time.
