Roderick Morrison

Passed away peacefully on Thursday September 22, 2016 at the West Island Palliative Care Residence after a brief battle with cancer. Rod was a beloved husband of 60 years to Jean Bridson, a loving father to Joanne (Louis Pellin) and a proud and adoring papa to Alyssa and Luka. He was predeceased by his brother Stan and his wife Carol. He is survived by their children, Don (Kie), Kathy (Bill), Ted and Allan. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Edmund Bridson and survived by his wife Betty and their children, Cheryl-Ann (Chris), Derek and Steve (Mandy). Rod was born and grew up in Montreal. He attended Strathcona Academy and graduated from McGill in Mechanical Engineering in 1955. Most of his working life was with Peacock Inc in Ville LaSalle. Upon his retirement he worked as a volunteer director and fund raiser for NOVA West Island. He was a long time member of the Beaconsfield Golf Course. The family wishes to thank Luhan, Dora and the NOVA for their outstanding care to both Rod and Jean. We would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at the CLSC Pierrefonds and the West Island Palliative Care Residence. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence or to the NOVA West Island. A celebration of Rod's Life will take place on Sunday October 2, 2016 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Beaconsfield Golf Club, 49 Ave du Golf, Pointe-Claire, H9S 4N6.
