Mike. Thank you for being the nicest Big Brother a little sister could ever hope for. I miss our week-end visits and lunches out at the village, ice cream drives along the lakeshore, especially being with you and just hanging out and watching hockey. Mike, thank you for always being there for me, and for your support.  Mike, because of your great memory, we always had fun reminiscing from days of Expo '67 till more recent times. I do remember being young and staying up late watching hockey with you and dad. You knew more about hockey stats than any Broadcaster. There is a sense of peace knowing now that you are with Mom and Dad, Truly the most Phenomenal Parents in every way possible. Know they are so proud of the kind loving gentleman you grew to be. You had the best sense of humor, and a love for music as well. It was so cool that we shared a favorite song Jolene.  I am glad that I had recently told you, not only were you the Best Brother ever, but that you were also my Best Friend. How lucky was I to have you in my life.  I will miss our daily phone calls, and hearing your funny jokes before we said good night.  I so miss your voice, and being able to call you. The world became a better place the day you were born, and for those who were fortunate enough to know you. Thank you for all the great advice you gave me along the way, and know you will never be forgotten. I love you, and I miss you. xoxo

Big brothers are our strength & Maureen was very blessed.
Adoring parents raised their children with strong values & a zest for the important things in life. 
Being so well rounded ,strong and compassionate Michael was   reward with the most supportive community and  circle of friends  he so deserved. 
Maureen was his biggest fan. The  support & bond she and her children shared ran very very deep with Michael. 
Reconnecting with Maureen is truly remarkable and just  meant to be.  Michael enjoyed  listening to our stories,  past and present ...  his wise advise was much appreciated !
Mike lived his life giving and loving. Truly a classy gentle soul who will be deeply missed.

I have known Michael as Maureen’s big brother since a young age.   He was a great  role model and the best  big brother to Maureen and her siblings.   He also shared an important role as a Godparent with me to his adored niece Laura!   He was such an inspiration to people with disabilities!   He will be truly missed by all his family and friends!!  RIP 💕

Mike was one of a kind,   I am glad that I had a chance to reconnect with him after so many years, we would talk on the phone every few days for hours reminiscing about our younger days  and challenging each other’s memories and sharing laughs, glad that I was able to visit him at his home a few days before his passing, I will miss my good friend and cherish his memory forever. condolences to his family and his many great friends, 

Mike was quite a character! I think anyone who knew him loved his quick wit, his sharp responses and his big heart. He was a very close friend to my friend Gloria, and lived with her and her boys for many years. He was a good friend to her and a wonderful buddy to her boys. She took great care of Mike and made sure he was included in so many things.  He will be missed by so many people who knew him and loved his infectious laugh and his crazy wit!

It is with terrible sadness that I learn of the passing of my dear and long time friend.   
Mike & I met at Sherway Gardens (ON) when I accepted part time work at Calderone Shoes/Naturalizer back in the 90’s.  Mike was my Assistant Manager at Naturalizer and we worked together for 5 amazing fun years, little did I know then that this was the beginning of a life long friendship.  Upon meeting, we instantly became the best of buds!  He was so incredibly funny, his wit, positive outlook on life just inspired me so much!  He took me under his wings in many ways and with not having my Father close by, Mike became a father figure and mentor to me. There was never a time when we were not there for one another – honestly, best friends to the core.  We enjoyed going to the off-track betting establishments in various places around Toronto on the weekends - he just loved the excitement and energy at the horse races and despite losing a bit of money, we had a crazy fun time together cheering on our picks!  Mike loved his music, a passion we both shared.  We enjoyed many amazing nights at various music clubs together throughout the course of his life in the Toronto. He lived at Yonge and Eglington and the Chicken Deli was our favourite place to go! We saw too many bands to mention, he especially loved cover bands from the 50’s and 60’s.  
I will be forever be grateful that Mike came into my life, my only regret is that I could not be there when he died to hold his hand and that my husband George did not meet him, although they did talk often when we spoke every couple of months.  We had planned a trip in the Fall to have George meet Mike and to take him fishing, but alas it was not meant to be.  Right before the pandemic hit, I did get up to see Mike, attached are a few pictures of our fun night, doing all the things we loved - enjoying a glass of wine and watching a live band!  I will miss my friend forever, loved him dearly, my deepest condolences to his family! Love Suzanne.


It is with a very heavy heart that I look at Mikes obituary. . It is now all too real- I will miss my dear friend immensely.  He was such a kind guy and he had a heart of gold. His humour was his forte. He always had a great line and he was so quick . He also had a memory bar none. He would always say do you remember us  doing this with my family and I would often say - you know Mike I don’t but he would be patient and describe the time and then I’d remember and then we would laugh. There are far too many memories with Mike that I won’t forget. He was a dedicated friend and would help out at a moments notice. I will always hold him fondly in my heart. There’s more room now because it’s broken. I know he will be watching over his family and me and my boys who also loved him dearly as well. I am sure he is singing The House Of The Rising sun as I write this. Fly high my friend, until we meet again -Love you xo

I will miss seeing Mike Shea at Gloria Calderwood's, his devoted friend,  where he was always included in  family gatherings, having lived at her house for many years and was a kind of uncle  to her boys!!
His quick wit and fun spirit will be missed.
Gloria took Mike to doctor's  appointments , for his groceries, renew his audio books, etc, Gloria was his right hand for many years, and till the end.

He joked that when he got dressed in the morning if the clown music played when he opened the door,  he knew that his wardrobe did not match....he was a very funny guy!!
You will be missed dear Mike.
