Jim is survived by Joan, his wife of almost 66 years. He is the father of Margaret (Mike), Myles, Anmarie (Janet), Lorne (Anita), Danny (Karen) and Emmanuel. He is grandfather to Julian (Mallory), Melissa (Reza), Kristen (Darren), Liam (Claire), Cameron, Aimee, Morgane, Keith and Shona, and great-grandfather to Calder and Adaline. Jim and his sister, Maryan Carlin grew up in Outremont and spent many summers in Richmond, Quebec.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Don Myles with whom he shared many a chuckle. Jim will have been met at the Pearly Gates by his son Myles, his parents, Marguerite and Harold, his brother-in-law, Gene Carlin and his sister-in-law, Louise Myles, many friends from the Loyola Community, the Royal Montreal Golf Club and the decades-long dinner-of-the-month-club.
There will be a gathering at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe Claire, QC on Friday, June 9 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Mission, 98 Aurora Ave. Pointe-Claire, on Saturday June 10 at 11:00am, followed by a reception in the church hall.
Special thanks and sincere appreciation to the staff on the fourth floor of the Denis Benjamin Viger Residence for the exemplary care given to Jim throughout his stay.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Loyola High School Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated.
