Jim was a class mate at L oyola High. We met again to  organize a  class reunion of 49. It was a great happening to celebrate the 50th
anniversary. 
Jim and I shared our love and admiration for Father Ken Casey S.J.
The 25 graduates who attended were all very thankful for the influence that Loyola had had on our adult lives. With Jim's   leadership we started a fund  which  grew  to be over $ 250,000.00, 
t o help Loyola students over the years.
Well done Jim. You truly are a man for others.

He kept us together and informed  over many, many years.

My sincerest condolences to you Joan and all the children in the passing of Jim. My husband Larry taught with him for 30 years at Loyola high school. Jim's devotion to Loyola was exceptional. He was always friendly, helpful an cheerful. We were fortunate to enjoy the "Dinner of the Month" for years and enjoyed his company and jokes.
He had a vibrant faith and he lived it.
My prayers are with all the family as you live these difficult days.

Dear Joan,
The first note that struck me on learning of Jim's death was, "Jim's was a life well lived." My memories of Jim, going back over six decades, are treasured. They include his fashioning of a detailed heraldic emblem for my 28th birthday, on to his raising a "corpse" from a coffin behind me as I was, in the phrase of Eric MacLean, "slurring my way" through a speech at a St Patrick's Day party at Loyola. Jim's broad general knowledge and invincible sense of humour are part of my memory as well. Then there was his perhaps crowning achievement: Loyola of Montreal. So much more could be said, but room will not allow.
Sarah joins me in offering you and the family our sincere sympathies.
P.S. In a remarkable coincidence, Jim is being buried from St Edward the Confessor Mission; our parish here in BC is St Edward the Confessor.

As a former member of the "faculty brat" club mentioned by Tim Ruddy, Mr. Pearson's class was never considered as a forum for teenager antics out of sheer respect for a great teacher and even greater gentleman. This respect continued some thirty years later as a colleague of "Pears". My sincere condolences to Joan and the entire Pearson family on the passing of a loving family man and true Loyola legend. 

Mr Pearson was a true gentleman and a great supporter of Loyola.  He will be missed.  I extend my sincere condolences to his family.
