Phyllis D. (Swisher) ROSE, died at home with her daughter by her side on June 25th, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Reverend Jackie Ann Rose Kraft (Reverend Thomas M. Kraft) of Pendleton, NY, a granddaughter Autumn Rose Kraft-Decota and great grandson Landis Michael DeCota both of Cheektowaga, NY and one brother, Earl (Jack) Swisher of Lakeland, Fl.
Phyllis is predeceased by her husband, Russell, her daughter Georgianna, as well as seven brothers and sisters.
Phyllis was born and raised in Hindsboro, Illinois, May 9th, 1932. She lived in Indiana, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York before moving to The Meadows at CountryWood as a pioneering resident in Plant City, Florida.
Phyllis was an avid golfer who achieved twelve holes in one, as well as a faithful bowler and bridge player. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Plant City where she attended Worship and Bible study. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed refinishing furniture, playing cards, and visiting with friends over happy hour. She was well known and respected as a woman who would speak her mind and care for friends and family in a quiet, unassuming way. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of life memorial service at: First United Methodist Church of Plant City on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10:30am. A luncheon and time of sharing will follow at the clubhouse at The Meadows at CountryWood.
