Marjorie Lucille Shivers, 94, departed this life January 31, 2013. She was born Marjorie Lucille Harn on February 1, 1918 in Monroe City, MO, Ralls County, MO. She was married to Leonard D. Shivers at the First United Methodist Church in South Tampa, FL on August 31, 1941 and was widowed in 1984. Mrs. Shivers is survived by her sister Rosemary Dean of Monroe City, MO and numerous nieces and nephews in that area. She is the mother of 4 children, Marjorie Kuczware of Temple Terrace, FL, Carol Klein of Pine, MO, Leonard Shivers, Jr. of Plant City, FL, and John Shivers, formerly of Plant City, FL., deceased. "Grandmama" is the much loved grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 13 and great great grandmother of one. After attending secretarial college she worked under Civil Service during WWII in Washington, DC where she met her future husband. In 1947 they moved to the family farm on Shiloh Rd., now Terrace Dr., in Plant City, where they had a citrus and poultry operation. They traveled extensively during their lives and visited all 50 states, Canada, and Mexico. When they retired they moved first to Dunedin, FL then later to Lakeland, FL. At the time of her passing she resided at The Heath Center of Plant City on Wilder Rd where she received loving care from their excellent staff. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Plant City for 65 years and was a member of Mary Martha/Crossroads Sunday School Class during that time. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 between 6-8pm at Wells Memorial and Event Center, 1903 W. Reynolds St., Plant City, FL. Funeral Services will be held at Wells Memorial and Event Center Chapel Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00am with Reverend Earl Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Plant City, FL.
