Marcia Case Tafe

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mom, nana, and sister Marcia Case Tafe on Monday, September 23, 2024. Making Plant City the family home in 1973, Marcia was born in Pontiac, Michigan on March 28, 1947. She was a Retired USPS rural carrier of 23 years and dedicated 17 years to the Florida Strawberry Festival. She is survived by her husband Joe of 57 years, Kim (daughter), Joey (son), Kyle (grandson) & Kayla Garren, Victoria (granddaughter) & Elliot Mintzer, Taylor (granddaughter) & Bessie Tafe (DIL), Makynlee, Tynsleigh, & Greysen Mintzer (great grandchildren) , Rae Jean Smith (sister), Charlie, Maggie, & Sadie (grand dogs). Her extended family through Christ- Donna Reeser McDonald (mom), and (sisters) Kathleen Hill, Melody Cundiff, Yvonne Cast, Amy Milam, & many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry R. Case, Sr & Ivanelle Johnson Case and brother Bobby Case. Joseph Tafe, Sr & Elsie Tafe (in-laws), Joe & Cooie Raulino (bil/sil).

An Aries - “uncomplicated and direct in approach” …you knew where you stood with her, she didn’t hold back and generally wasn’t to discrete. She hated cooking and her next house would be without a kitchen. By her own admission “I know I give your dad a hard time” but he was her true partner, a testament to hard work and dedication. Her family without a doubt was her pride and joy. She always made sure her kids and grands were taken care of (spoiled a little bit more at each generation change). All of us experienced our first Bingo outing at 18 and she was so proud to take us. You could always count on mom/nana to be there whatever, wherever, and whenever the event or call (she didn’t miss many nor did she say no). She also made sure we got the Berry Best tickets to events. She was the “cool grandma.” The spunk in the most recent years generated from bounce houses, old McDonalds, coloring, playing dress-up, and Thursday funday with her great grand babies (making sure she brought donuts each visit or she might be in trouble). The twins honesty, innocence, and gestures gave her another picture or video to share, smile, and brag about. She made sure to have time for Sam’s Club trips, game nights, sporting events, walking, family dinner night, our annual beach trip to include candy kitchen, putt-putt, and Dagwoods - since 1982, Elvis, and the color RED.

Visitation at Wells Memorial Funeral Home - Plant City, Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 10:00-12:00 noon followed by Interment at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon.
