I know you are rejoicing! Uncle Simmie has found his way home to you for all eternity. What a glorious celebration is happening in Heaven! We will carry the love and memories we shared with you here on earth.. until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ return or his calling us home to be with him.I will always carry your love close to my heart! love Sally

My dear Aunt Kay its been one year and two days since you went home to our wonderful Lord & Savior. We were all so Blessed in having you as part of our lives and our hearts. There never comes a time that we move on from those we love. We always hold in our hearts the memories that were made. One day we all will be joined together again. Well Granny, looks like Dad and Susie have posted your tabasco/pepper sauce recipe. I need to try to dup your fried eggplant patties sometime--you never wrote the recipe down. It was about this time last year I was supposed to visit you in Plant City, but I couldn't make it; I was too sick. I think it was a gallbladder issue looking back. I didn't know I would never see you awake again. I love you and miss you without end and beyond anything I could ever describe. If I had the chance to do it all again with you in my life, I would jump. Love you GK. Ang

My dear Granny - 
I send you prayers and love on this day, what would have been your 86th birthday. While you celebrate with your daddy, momma, Jerry, Tommy, Aunt Lou, and others, know that I am thinking of you on this day and wished I could be there to celebrate with you. It was a very special day--the day you came into this world. LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Angela

She was a warm, loving individual that will be surely missed.

We are very sorry for your loss. We know that you loved her very much and that she will be greatly missed.  However, she is with our Lord now, which is where we all hope to be someday.  May God bless you and your family.  You and your family are in our prayers.

For those of us that were blessed to have known Aunt Kay's love and kindness her passing has brought much sorrow. She always would greet you with that wonderful smile and positive attitude. I know she she is in the presence of the Lord.

There was beautiful once,
a time--golden and glowing,
with great beauty and love,
filled with beautiful things,
beautiful moments,
beautiful people,
with big hearts and great souls--beyond compare.

Ah...but how did we know
that we would come to this time?
A time to recall your greeting and laughter...

Is it a better thing?
That I have loved your laugh and your gifts to me?
Or that I have given you a new party dress
for your send off today?
Which has made me a better person?

And how many more times will I not travel
this bumpy road?
Through the hall of hovering oaks
and veils of mysterious mosses,
with great anticipation and joy
of your greeting me--with more gifts,
with more love,
with more patience, 
with more time...
more time...

Mom,
Only utterance of the Holy Spirit can express what your life has meant to me, but I will try to express that meaning in part:

You were a special Christmas present from my heavenly Father at my birth on December 23, 1943. And you have always been that superlative perfect blessing to me. For much of our lives you were not only my mother, but also my best friend, my sister, my brother, my helper, my encourager and often a father. Our heavenly Father gave us a family where we had none, just as he did for His son Jesus--so we were a family within a family.

I will always cherish the kind and gentle example that you gave me as a boy. No, you never spoiled me into a mama's boy, but you disciplined me and let me fight my own battles like all boys who run the rights-of-passage while becoming men. But your example started when they baptized you in Moore's lake when I was about four; and I watched you grow into that "Good and Faithful Servant" our Father wishes for us all to become. You were the perfect wife for your husband Simmie, who needed all you had to give and more. So you poured out your life to Simmie and to me without selfishness and without regret. Beyond that, you poured out your love to many many others outside the family. 

Unlike many people who spend time with the wealthy and well positioned, your friends were the poor and the down-trodden. That is why when we stopped at stores, sometimes a child or even an adult we did not know ran up to you and hugged you to demonstrate their thanks for the love you had given them along the way.

Mom, "thou Good and Faithful Servant," I cherish knowing you are even now in your Mansion that is filled with my Father's light. It is clear that I must remain in this painful place so that my Father can remove the bitterness in my heart before being allowed to enter the mansion where His light fills every corner and shadow. For He will accept nothing less--those who are forgiven all must also forgive all. 

Until we meet again in His presence,
I say Shalom my wonderful sister and friend-forever; spread those wings and fly.

I will always remember Aunt Kay as one of the nicest people you could know. She will be missed greatly.

Everyone should have an aunt as sweet as Aunt Kay.  We will miss you!

My world will never be the same. You are forever my heart. I love you more than life itself Granny, like I told you on Tuesday last week. I miss you so much and I wish I could have convinced you to hang on. xoxoxoxoxox I promise you that me and Sue and the fellas will all see Pop more often. If there is anything good that could come from losing such a beautiful person in the world, it is simply the realization that there are no do-overs, as much as I want one right now. All of us are suddenly very, very atuned to how much we mean to each other and how much life tends to keep us apart. May we all cherish each other more and actually show it. May we all follow in your example that way. If I had it all to do again, I wouldn't change a thing. I'd do it the same way with you in my life as my Granny--just multiplied by 5.

I love you Uncle Simmie and will pray for God's peace & love for you at this time.  I will always love you Aunt Kay and all my wonderful memories spent with you as a child & and as you would say all grown up.. My Love Always. Sally
