Jerry was a lifelong resident of Plant City and a graduate of Plant City High School. After graduation, Jerry served in the Army Reserves and was proud of his country. He worked for TECO and retired February 1, 2000. He fully enjoyed his almost 21 years of retirement. Jerry loved going to Daytona Beach, cruises,
feeding his little raccoon buddies and making people laugh. Jerry lived and loved large, always with a smile and a laugh. He and his wife, Judy, were active members of the PC Moose Lodge 1668 until it closed.
Jerry is predeceased by his loving parents Anthony and Louise Yancey, a brother Anthony and a sister Peggy Loetscher. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Judy Carlough-Yancey, son Gene Yancey (Leanne), step-sons Ronald Carlough (Jenny), Keith Carlough and Mark Carlough, brother Vernon Yancey (Linda) and sister Patsy Wilkerson (EW). He had 10 grandkids, 2 great-grandkids and many loving nieces, nephews and special friends.
A Memorial service will be held at Wells Memorial Funeral Home and Event Center, 1903 West Reynolds Street in Plant City on Tuesday, October 27th with a visitation beginning at 10:00am followed by his service at 11:00am. Cremation will follow at a later date.
