Bill was born May 10th, 1934, in Bonham Texas, to James Russell McCormack and Maude Lindsey McCormack. Bill lost both his parents at an early age and was proud to have grown up at Boles Children’s Home in Quinlan Texas.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. After his service ended, he returned to Plano Texas where he was employed in the banking industry for over 50 years. After his retirement he moved to McKinney Texas, where he lived with his daughter and son-in-law for the past 25 plus years. Most recently he moved with them to Van Alstyne Texas, until his last move to the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham Texas. Bill was an active member of the Collin County Church of Christ, until his health no longer allowed.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and several half brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Dan) Nerada, of Van Alstyne Texas, grandson, Thomas Nerada, of Anna Texas, granddaughter and husband, Lauren (Stephen) Tillett, of Tom Bean Texas, and two great grand children, Easton and Harper Tillett. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bill will always be remembered as a calm, kind and gentle man, who enjoyed working in the yard, visiting with family & friends, working a jigsaw puzzle and walking his dogs. We’re sure they’re all waiting at the gates of heaven for their next walk with “Pop’s”.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano Texas. Graveside services and burial, with military honors, will be held Monday, July 29th, 2024, at 1:00 PM, Van Alstyne Cemetery, Van Alstyne Texas.
The family would truly like to thank the staff of the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home for the care and companionship given to him over the past year.
