Roger Calvin Sharlow was born on November 30, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Roger was born to Margaret and Harry Sharlow. Roger spent much of his early years in the Indiana area until he moved down to Plano, TX. Roger got his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Plano and would eventually go on to get his Master’s degree, in computer science from East Texas State University. Roger married his wife, Julia, in the First Baptist Church of Plano in 1968 and they have been together ever since. Roger was an Electrical Mechanical Engineer by trade. He worked as a designer as well. He holds many patents today. You could tell him what you needed and what you needed it to do, and he could make something to fix your problem. Roger took great pride in becoming a Mason as his father and grandfather before him, and it gave him great pleasure when both of his sons became Masons as well. Roger gave thanks to God for all his blessings, he always put God first in his life. This was evident in how he was dedicated to his family and helping others anyway he could. Roger was always helping people. This was especially true in his work with many churches and God's Food Pantry. He did everything he could to help people out. Whether it was done through his church work, or just giving a helping hand, Roger thoroughly enjoyed helping his fellow man. Roger leaves behind his wife Julia, as well as his children; Tambria Sharlow, Juanita Sharlow, John Sharlow, Roger Sharlow II, and Christina Blankenship. Roger also leaves behind a large number of grandchildren; Amanda Sharlow, Nathan Sanchez, Brandon Sanchez, Vivian Sanchez, Jackie Blankenship, Breanna Blankenship, Laura Sharlow, Roger Sharlow III, Richard Sharlow, Phillip Sharlow, and Jayden Nguyen. Roger also leaves behind his great granddaughter, Laryssa Sharlow, and his siblings Terrell Sharlow, Don Sharlow, and Harriet Benavidez. Roger will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and friends that loved him. Donations can be made in Roger’s honor to the Plano Masonic Lodge # 768 as well as the First Christian Church of Plano.
