Bob was born in Peoria, Illinois. At around age 7 his family moved to Robinsdale, Minnesota. After High School he served four years in the Marines and then went to college at Augsburg and received a degree in education. He received the most letters in sports then any other person while attending Augsberg College (now known as Augsburg University). He went on to teach math at Golden Valley, Minnesota. Besides teaching he coached men and women in several sports over the years. When he retired he moved to Sun City Grand, Arizona with his wife Mary.
He and his wife during his retirement took advantage of all the activities at the retirement community. They were so busy it was always hard to get a hold of them. His wife Mary passed away in 2011. Then in 2023 he decided to move to Plano Texas to be near his daughter and his grandkids. Anyone who knew him knew he loved playing cards and games. He was a man that never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. and at his request he chose not to have a memorial service. He is up in heaven with his beloved wife Mary of 55 plus years.
He is survived by his daughter Debra Southard and son-in-law Brian Cooley, and his son Rickie Lockwood and daughter-in-law Connie Lockwood. He also leaves to cherish his memory four grandsons, one granddaughter and five great-grand kids.
