Rivon Lynn Kliewer was born in Okeene, Oklahoma on February 16, 1949, the third child of four born to Ruben and Willadene Kliewer. She is survived by an older brother, Loren Kliewer and wife Koreen of South Carolina; an older sister, Lanette Brunott and husband Chip of Texas; and a younger brother, Scott Kliewer and wife Pam of Kansas. The family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, when Rivon was 3 years old and later to Topeka, Kansas, where she finished grade school, junior high school, and high school. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1967 and later moved to Dallas, Texas in 1972 where she was employed in apartment management and office administration for many years. She worked for various property management companies until the 1990's when she became more interested in office administration. She then worked for Rushmore Financial Group in office administration for over 10 years until her father passed away and her mother needed a caregiver. Rivon stepped right in for the family and assumed the responsibility of taking care of her elderly mother for over 6 years. She then went to work for Auto Group of Plano as an office administrator until she went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2022.
Rivon first heard that she could have everlasting life and be saved from hell and go to heaven when she was 4 years old. Her older sister remembers a neighbor boy describing the love that Jesus has and dying to pay for our sins so that we could go to heaven. Amazed at what they had heard, the two sisters asked their mom to explain more. She did and they believed it. Both girls go back to that day when a neighbor told them about Jesus, and they believed in Him. Being a family where the Bible was taught, Rivon got involved in church activities and Christian groups like Youth for Christ that allowed them to meet many teenagers their own age.
Upon graduating from Topeka West High School, Rivon was offered employment in a well-established business firm in Topeka, Kansas. Five years later in 1972 she moved to Dallas, Texas to eventually take a position as manager of an apartment complex in Dallas. She lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for some 50 years, attended various Bible churches, but never married. She enjoyed reading, alone time, history, cleaning, organizing, and was a help to her family on many occasions, especially in the care of her mother. She will be missed by her three siblings and spouses, six nephews: Chad Brunott, Jeff Kliewer, Matthew Kliewer, Brad Brunott, Brad Kliewer, Ryan Kliewer; two nieces: Charla (Brunott) Sorrells and Kim (Kliewer) Harris; and many grand nieces and nephews
The family realized that I Thessalonians 4:13-18 provides a promise from God of tremendous comfort. To know that believe in Jesus will be reunited with their loved ones provides tremendous comfort in the midst of sorrow and temporary loss. This Bible passage indicates that believers will "forever" be with the Lord and makes us all aware of how important it is to know of His "everlasting" life. Rivon and the family would want you to know that we are all comforted by the promise that God gives us.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that monetary gifts be given to Cypress Valley Bible Church, P.O. Box 458 Marshall, Tx. 75671 and designated for mission work in Nicaragua; or to the memorial fund at Meridian Baptist Church, 1130 W Broadway St. Newton, KS 67114.
