Marsha Marie Ivers (née, Rogers) passed away on October 18, 2022 at her home in Wylie, Texas with family members present. She was born on August 17, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the daughter of Carl E. Rogers and Rea Marie Rogers (nee, Wright) both of whom preceded her in death.
Marsha graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1966. She was married to David Russell Ivers in 1971 and they moved to Alexandria, Virginia. It was in Alexandria that they discovered their shared love of the Saint Bernard dog breed. In 1972 they moved to Saint Louis, Missouri and began showing and breeding Saint Bernards. In 1978 they moved to Wylie, Texas where they continued showing and breeding. Marsha served as an officer in the Saint Bernard Club of Greater Saint Louis and the North Texas Saint Bernard Club and was a member of the Saint Bernard Club of America.
While in Wylie, Marsha was instrumental in establishing a Campfire Boys and Girls club there. She continued in a leadership role as long as her children were active into their high school years
After her children were grown she decided she wanted to complete her education. She attended Collin County Community College and the University of Texas at Dallas. In 1999 she graduated magma cum laude with a degree in American Studies.
Besides dog showing, Marsha enjoyed travel, arts and crafts, reading and listening to music.
She is survived by her husband, two children, Danielle Marie Eiker and Matthew David Ivers and two siblings, David Bruce Rogers and Christi Sue Upson and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made to the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th Street - Plano, Texas - 75074.
