Kelly Fields took that flight Tuesday morning March 8, 2022 at his residence in McKinney, Texas. Kelly was born on December 22, 1960 in Abilene, Texas, to his parents Jerry and Jean Fields.
Kelly and his family moved to Monroe, Louisiana when he was six years old, where he then attended Sallie Humble Elementary, Lee Jr High, Neville High and NLU. He and Pauline married on February 11, 1989 in Monroe, LA.
Kelly’s passion was flying. He took his first solo flight on February 22, 1980. His first position in aviation was flying pipeline for McMann Aviation in Monroe. Next he flew charter for Executive Air out of Jackson, Mississippi. He then moved to Washington State and flew for United Express and was promoted to captain on a Jet Stream. He and Pauline wanted to get back to the south to be closer to family and friends which led him to accept a corporate pilot position with Southern Bag in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to fly a Diamond jet, then a Citation III.
His greatest joy was when his son Connor was born.
With a leap of faith Kelly, Pauline and Connor moved to McKinney. He enjoyed following Connor as he progressed from middle school to high school ultimately arriving at Texas A&M in the fall of 2011.
After Connor was accepted to Texas A&M, he fell in love with the Aggies. Kelly was a diehard fan. He was so proud that Connor graduated from Texas A&M in 2014. He bragged to anyone who would listen.
Kelly grew up water skiing on the Ouachita River. He also loved snow skiing, riding dirt bikes, go karts, his Harley, and anything fast. He loved Nascar but his favorite tracks were Daytona and Talladega. His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. He looked forward to his yearly trips to Talladega with his friends, the fun times at the cabin and the track.
Kelly also loved to travel. He saw so much of the US during his aviation career. He enjoyed taking his family on vacations to Florida beaches, Disney World, Las Vegas, New York, Colorado and many other places. Pauline and Connor are so thankful for those memories which will be cherished forever along with the 24 photo albums to reminisce. You will be in our hearts forever Kelly.
