Known as Jim, Jimmy and even Little Jimmy by his favorite cousins, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed as we grieve his passing.
Jim graduated from Richard King High School, Corpus Christi, Texas in 1971 and attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. His passion for cooking led him to a career in restaurant management. At the height of his career he was a District Restaurant Manager for Kmart. Besides cooking, his other passions were bowling and Sudoku puzzles. He served as league treasurer on his senior bowling league in Plano, Swinging Seniors. In 2022, he wrote and published a book of Samurai Sudoku puzzles, Masamune Sudoku.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Joseph Meadows, Sr. and Malda Meadows; and one son, Richard Kevin Meadows. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy Kelley Meadows, Plano; son Brian Patrick Meadows, McKinney; son Robert Allen Meadows, Jacksonville, AR and his wife, Monica; two granddaughters Lisa and Delores; brother Dave Meadows and his wife, Patti of Crosby; brother-in-law Patrick Kelley and wife, Tippy of Corpus Christi; niece Sarah Palacios and family; niece Faith Longorio and family; and nephew James Joseph Meadows III and family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 31, 2024 at 12 PM, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St Plano, TX 75074.
