Elnora "Ellie" Mae Silverman

Most knew her as Ellie. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on January 18, 1936, in Bellaire, Ohio, to Lula Mae and David Meek.

Ellie and her husband of 43 years, Edward, were avid cat lovers. They always had a pet cat, which they spoiled and adored. Mindy, their most recent pet, would keep Ellie company all day and sleep by her side every night. Ellie also loved watching the Texas Rangers play baseball and rarely, if ever, missed a game.

Ellie is survived by her husband, Edward Silverman, of Wylie, Texas; daughter Terri Lynn Acton, of Sachse, Texas; son Steven Carl Benyo, of Apple Valley, California; and grandchildren Malyssa Lynn Meek and her husband, Taylor, of Dallas, Texas; Jason Matthew Acton, of Brooklyn, New York; Heather Nicole Alvarado, and her husband, Miguel, of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and great-grandson Myles Alan Meek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula Mae and David, and her siblings, Velma Porter, Martha Toth, David Meek, and Leonard Meek.

The Funeral Service will be held at 12 o'clock noon on Monday, 12/2/2024, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in DFW National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
