Bobbie Coons, age 84, of Garland, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012. She was born on March 1, 1928, in Plano, to the late James and Wilma Genevieve Bryan. Bobbie was employed as a secretary for Don’s Transfer and Storage Company in Garland. She was a member of First Christian Church of Plano for several years, where she was involved in the senior group, Happy Days. Bobbie also served in other capacities within the church, including sharing her musical talents of playing piano and organ. She enjoyed arts and crafts and researching genealogy. Bobbie was a radiant, kind and caring person with a great desire to help others. She had a positive outlook on life and was a positive role model to those around her. Bobbie will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew her. She is survived by her husband, Bob Coons, to whom she was married 54 wonderful years; her twins, Jim Coons and Janet Coons, both of Euless; grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan and Eryn Coons, all of Keller; and cousins, Patsy Bryan of Austin, Marilyn Bryan of Austin and Mary Louise Norrell of Canton. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6-8pm in Ted Dickey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2pm in First Christian Church of Plano, 813 E. 15th St. Plano, TX 75074 with the Rev. Dr. Douglas J. Deuel officiating. Interment will follow in Big Springs Cemetery in Garland.
