Barbara Ann Watkins was born in San Bernardino, California on December 15th, 1947 as a gift of love to mother Louise Frankie Watkins-Jackson and Raised by stepfather John Jackson who she loved dearly. She would go on to marry and widow Edward Van Thomas who would proceed her in death.
Barbara attended John Meir High School in Pasadena School District of Los Angeles County. She also graduated from The Institute of Cosmetology on Oakland California and worked as a Desairologist for local funeral home in Oakland, CA. she also, worked with Woods and Valentine in Pasadena Ca. which she went on to work for the Pasadena Unified School District as a Dietitian for the school lunch program. Barbara was also a renow Eastern Star Sister seeking the Light back in the early 80's up until her last days, as well as have partnership in running her own hair salon in Richmond California then she wanted new experiences and decided to work for GreyHound Buses where she chartered all around the world for years.
Although Barbara had a since of style and energy, By early 90's she would pack her bags and move south to the Big State of Dallas, Texas, where she would reside for the following 27 years.
Barbara is survived by her only sibling Eitha Jean Mathews, childrens father Henry Lee Johnson and five children living and one Deceased son, (sons) Edward Deon Thomas, Roy Lee Johnson, (daughters) Trenice Melnia Douglas-Johnson, Stacy Janeane and Tracy Gue'lone Johnson-Brooks and one deceased son Darrin "Goochie" Jackson. Grandchildren: Charles, Alnicia, Barbara, Dalena, Dinah, Algenay, Omar, Daniel, Keyonia, Rafael (deceased), Sonjia, Karina, Roy Jr., Scotty Jr., Armoni, Tori , Nylia, and 15 great grandchildren.
