It is with the greatest amount of sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving, compassionate son, Alexander Charles Elder. Born on September 11, 2003, he blessed us with his presence for 19 wonderful years and moved on to the ultimate peace February 25, 2023. He is survived by his mother Kellie, father Bryan (Christine), older sister Alicia (Chris), younger brothers Miles and Chase, uncle Jonathan, grandfather Mike, aunt Tracy, and many other friends and family who loved him dearly.
Alexander’s entry into this world was not the easiest with a traumatic birth that had consequences for many years after, but he adapted under these challenging conditions and turned into a strong-willed, compassionate, intelligent, and exceedingly wise young man who worked through the deepest adversities to overcome challenges that many would never have made it through.
He beat to his drum and his drum only. If he loved something, he was going to be the best at it…and if he saw no use for it, it did not get in his way. Anything he loved he poured insane amounts of energy into, from something as simple as his moment in time when he decided he was going to do Rubik’s Cube competitions and was able to solve the puzzle in only seconds, to his current passion for sports cars where he worked side by side with his father rebuilding the engine in his Cadillac ATS that might have been pushed a little beyond its limits. His auto fascination was opening up a whole new world to him. He called on more than one occasion so full of excitement that he saw someone with a cool car at a gas station and walked up to talk to them only to find them then get rides in their cars.
He cherished his time in Ontonagon, MI with his mother, spending time on the tranquil shores of Lake Superior and taking a break from the fast pace of the city. He loved sharing the stories of his time there as it was a place of peace for him and his mother to be together.
The world has lost a bright and caring soul so much sooner than our hearts can handle. We will forever miss your infectious laugh and will remember and cherish every moment you blessed us with your presence. May you rest in peace beautiful son.
