Age 90, born in Placerville 3/16/1924 and passed away at home in Placerville Saturday 2/21/15 surrounded by his family. After returning from serving in the Army during WWII, Bob worked for Morton's Construction Co and had earned a 65 year Carpenters Union Pin. His parents, Carl and Amelia Springer and his siblings, Eugene, Edward and Betty preceded him in death.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret; daughter Linda Hansen (Rick); Son Robert Jr. (Gizelle); grandchildren Kenny (Kathy) Brown, Daryl Brown, Gina (Dennis) Kauffman, Stephanie (Chris) Ezell, Phillip (Haley) Springer and 5 great grandchildren; Macintosh, Matilda Logan, Elizabeth and Callie. Boomer is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a town full of friends.
Bob was Past Commander in the American Legion Post 119, a former Volunteer Fire Dept member and past Placerville City Council Member; just to name a few of his organizations he was passionate about.
Bob will always hold a very special place in our hearts, and will truly be missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a rosary service tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 26th at 7:00 pm at the Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, Feb. 27th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento St., Placerville followed by burial at the El Dorodo Cemetery, Church and Cemetery Sts., El Dorado. Contributions in Bob’s name may be made to American Legion Post 119, 4561 Greenstone Road : P.O. Box 421, Placerville, California 95667 or a favorite charity.
