Born in San Francisco, CA, to Frank and Tilde Rizzo, Clelia spent most of her early childhood in Nevada, as her parents worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad in the train towns of Imlay and Montello. Her family relocated to Sacramento in the 1940’s; Clelia spent the next 30 years in her beloved Camellia City.
A graduate of Grant Union High School class of 1954, Clelia was a pacer for life! In 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, Gene Arden Reed. They were married 57 years before Gene’s passing in 2013.
In 1970 Clelia and Gene relocated their young family to San Jose, CA. Clelia worked 20 years for the Santa Clara County Office of Education as a Teacher’s Aide for Special Ed. She retired in 1998; she loved her job. Making many lifelong friends along the way, she adored her students and the teachers and staff she worked with.
In 1998 Clelia and Gene moved to Placerville, CA, where they spent their final years together. She enjoyed traveling, scrap booking, time with her granddaughters, family, friends and beloved cat.
Clelia is survived by her daughter and son, their spouses, her beloved granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law. She is a most cherished and loved daughter, wife, and mother.
