Born in Qingdao, China, on May 25, 1949, Martin grew up in Taiwan before making his home in Pittsburgh. Martin lived a life of dedication, resilience and kindness, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Martin began his career in the navy before transitioning to be First Mate in long-distance logistics until the age of 40. His work often kept him at sea for months, but his love and commitment to his family always remained steadfast.
After immigrating to the United States, Martin settled in Pittsburgh and began working at local restaurant industry. His joy in meeting people and his tireless work ethic were evident in all that he did. Even while undergoing cancer treatment, Martin would often visit and help out at work.
Martin is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Kuo, his daughter and son-in law, Cindy and Steven Day; his son and daughter-in-law, Nick Kuo and Grace Yu; and many family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
A private family-only viewing will be held on December 18, 2024. A burial service will be held at a location to be specified at a later date, where family, friends, and loved ones can come together to honor and remember him.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Martin's honor to a charity of your choice.
Martin’s legacy of perseverance, kindness and love will live on in the hearts of who knew him.
