Born July 23, 1956, in Philadelphia, he was a son to the late Norman and Shirley (Gindis) Barish.
Stu graduated from Northeast High school in Philadelphia and later graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Penn State. He spent most of his life in New Jersey where he spent most of his career working at Trump Plaza as a table games supervisor. He later moved to Pittsburgh where he spent over a decade working at Rivers Casino as a table games supervisor and taking in all the wonderful things the city had to offer. He enjoyed gardening, planting many beautiful flowers, plants and trees. You could often refer to him as being a foodie, as he would be sure to try all the local restaurants that any city had to offer.
Stu’s life changed two years ago when he took a trip to Rehoboth Beach. He met Lorne, and fell in love for the first time.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include, Lorne, the love of his life; his sister-in-law Marietta Barish, his four legged child Malcolm and his Pittsburgh family; Lou, Bruce, Jenn, Rose, Gary and Andy. There are too many friends to mention but please know that each and every one of you was loved by Stu.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey Barish.
Stu could often be described as living life by the following quote:
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring when Stu’s flowers are in bloom.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.brandtfuneralhome.com for the Barish family.
