On Monday, October 30th, Stan departed this life to pursue new projects. A consummate sharer of knowledge, this graduate of Perry High and Pitt, he filled his life with a variety of activities ranging from Boy Scout to avid traveler/camper/photographer; from Navy Seaman to systems analyst for Bell Telephone; from Bellevue/Northgate School Authority President to President of the Harmony Associates; from choir member at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, West View to Deacon; from YMCA/AARP computer teacher to cooper at the Bob Evan’s Farm Festival. His last gig was travelogue presenter at Passavant Retirement Center.
Born on July 24, 1917 to Carol and Waldo Fawcett, Stan was proud of his descent from those who sailed on the Mayflower and fought in the American Revolution. Married in 1943 to Harriet Foye, he raised his daughters Patti (Paul Lebanik) and Debbie (John Quest) in Bellevue. He and Harriet spent their later years at the Hampshire House in Avalon before finally settling at Passavant Retirement Center in Zelienople. They were blessed with two grand-daughters, Laura (Mike Tso) and Christy (Will Lowry) and three great-grandsons, Matthew, David, and Owen. Friends will be received Friday 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave. Avalon, PA 15202, where services will be held Saturday at 11am. Private interment. Donations may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, West View.
