Matthew "Matt" Kotick

Matthew Kotick, age 38, of Shaler Township, passed away on January 19, 2023. He was born on January 4, 1985 to Ronald and Janeen (Harancher) Kotick. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Harancher and grandmother, Betty Kotick.

Matt is survived by his parents, Ronald and Janeen Kotick; his brothers, Christopher (Erica) Kotick and Steve Kotick; his nephew, Elijah Kotick; grandmother, Marlene Harancher; grandfather, John Kotick; and his uncle, Bruce (Susan) Harancher, along with other uncles and aunts, friends, and family who will miss Matt deeply.

Matt received his Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Pittsburgh before starting a career with BNY Mellon. Matt was quiet, sweet, and helpful to all who knew him. He loved all animals, especially his beloved German Shepherd, Kaiser, who was his best friend. He loved books and was an avid reader and always had a book nearby. Matt loved to travel and enjoyed going to new cities and experiencing the culture and people a new place had to offer. When he wasn't reading or traveling, Matt enjoyed spending time on the golf course.

A visitation for Matthew will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Hwy, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15237. A memorial service will take place Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family asks that no flowers be sent to the funeral home.
