Mary thoroughly enjoyed being involved in her community and served as President of Gateway AARP for more than 10 years. She belonged to Teutonia Mannerchor where she was a 66 Card Club member and Perry Hilltop. She served for countless years at the election polls with her husband and took pride in helping democracy thrive. Mary also loved to travel.
