Glenn Robert Welsh of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on November 21, 2021 after a tireless fight with cancer, he was 64 years of age. Glenn was surrounded by cherished family and old friends from diagnosis until the final goodbyes were spoken. He is at peace and his family is left enriched by the love and memories we shared with him.
Glenn was a product of Pittsburgh through and through. He was born in the city and it was here where he would choose to stay and work and raise his family. He enjoyed everything ‘Pittsburgh’ from its sports to its history and entertainment. A particular point of pride was his long career with Scott Electric. He got his start there and stayed with the company through his retirement as a manager.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his mother, Dorothy, along with his father-in-law, Ted. Glenn spent 40 years married to Colleen (Gorman) Welsh, his wife, his love, and the mother of their three sons. Jeffrey, Glenn and Colleen’s first-born, sadly preceded Glenn in death. Glenn is survived by his wife and their two remaining sons Glenn Jr. and Daniel. Glenn was fortunate to be gifted four grandchildren; Nicholas and Ashley through Jeffrey and Kailey and Colin through Glenn Jr. and his wife Erika. In addition, Glenn is also survived by his older sister Margaret, and his younger sister Melissa. Glenn also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that all adored his presence. Lastly, the two family dogs, Lucy and Mister, who loved Glenn as only a man’s dogs can. We will all miss him dearly.
Though he left us sooner than any had hoped we are comforted in knowing that he is at rest. Cancer may have taken our beloved family member but it will never take the moments we had and the love we shared with him. In keeping with Glenn’s wishes and his zeal for life we invite family and friends to join us in celebrating Glenn’s life and helping us honor his legacy.
Friends are welcomed at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Hwy, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 2PM-8PM. A memorial service will be held on November 30th, 2021 at the funeral home chapel at 11AM. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service.
