He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He was a graduate of Assumption High School who served in the United States Army and was a proud Vietnam veteran that retired from Fort Sill, OK . He also took pride in being a Third Degree Mason and Shriner.
He is survived by his sister, Janice Beadle (John); nephew. Johnnie Beadle; two children, LaGwenda Baker (Ivon) and Steve Landry, Jr. (Dawn); two stepsons, Gary Ray and Robert Hatchett; nine grandchildren, Joey Baker, Cassidy Baker, Tre Landry, Jarred Wright, Jessica Hatchett Hardy, Emily Hatchett, Hollie Hatchett Brumley, Gary Hatchett, Jr. and Corey Hatchett; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and angel Karen Hatchett Landry; his parents, Hearling and Mildred Landry; three brothers, Hearling Landry, Jr., Wayne J. Landry and Bobby P. Landry.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Thibodaux Regional CC Unit and Rehab Department for taking such great care of him in his final days. Also, thanks to Vitalcare Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 9:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home until the Mass of Christian Burial for 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Belle River. Father Al Davidson will be presiding over the services.
