Roy Richard Jr., 64, passed away on February 10, 2011. He was born and resided in Belle River. He was a Tugboat Captain and owner of Bayoulands Grocery and Richard’s Hardware. Roy was a past Master of Masonic Doric Lodge 205 and Ascension Lodge 251. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lucy Richard; one daughter Melissa and husband Helman Ackman; two sons Brent and wife Tara Richard, and Glenn and wife Jamy Richard; four grandchildren Joshua Ackman, Chance, Lexy, and Aftyn Richard; two step grandchildren Abby and Anna Ambeau; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Rivers Blanchard; brother and sister-in-law Henry and Judy Richard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Odelle Richard Sr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 12, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow in church mausoleum.
