He had 6 older siblings and 1 younger sister.
Grew up in Los Angeles on West 89th St., (replaced by the Harbor Fwy)
Enlisted in the U.S Marine Corps at age 17
Served as a B. A. R. rifleman with the 1st Marie Division in the South Pacific.
Participated in the invasion of Okinawa and later stationed in occupied China
for the remaining of his service.
Learned the automotive trade and worked as a Chrysler mechanic for almost 40 years
Met the love of his life, Virginia in June of 1951 when she came to LA to visit her siblings
Traveled to Wisconsin to marry Virginia in November of 1951 who he shared 70 years with before she passed in 2022
Returned to California in the Spring of 1952 (too cold in Wisconsin)
Lived in East Los Angeles for many years and later in Whittier
He and Virginia raised 3 sons, Patrick, Jim & Wayne, and nephew Phillip while caring
for his mother Carmen
Retired in 1987 and did masonry work, built furniture and cabinets for various families
James loved his family unconditionally
Enjoyed woodworking, stained glass, carpentry and remodeling
Traveled the USA and visited Scotland after Virginia retired in 1989
Lost the love of his life, Virginia in 2022
Reunited with his Wife Virginia and granddaughter Virginia in heaven on January 15, 2024
Survived by 1 sister, 3 sons, 1 daughter-in-law, 13 grandchildren, 9 grandchildren-in-law, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and several nieces, nephews and God Children
