Craig was born on August 17, 1970, to D.A. Thomas-Muhammad and John Murphy in Newark, NJ.
Craig was raised in Newark, NJ, where he attended Dr. MLK School before moving to East Orange, NJ. Craig attended the East Orange Public Schools until his graduation. After graduating high school, Craig gained his certification as a Phlebotomist and his Theology degree years later. Craig was a long-time employee of Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Center, where he assisted the residents with life skills in addition to mental and emotional support. Craig maintained his employment until falling ill.
Craig met his forever, Robin Carroll in 1989, as just a young teenager. This love connection led to 35 years of love together. Through this union, Ashley, Amber, Yoshua, and Elijah were born. Craig a loving and devoted father and husband. Craig lived a fulfilling life filled with laughter, love, and lots of talking. Craig had a passion for reading and discussing current affairs, teachings of the Tab, Egyptology, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Quality time was Craig's love language. Craig also enjoyed martial arts and boxing. As a child, he studied Karate and enhanced his craft many years later, gaining a Black Belt degree in Kuk Sool Won. He enjoyed this art so much that his children joined and gained their degrees as well. Craig wore a hard exterior, but inside, he was a sweetheart who would give you the shirt off his back. His warm smile, strong principles, morals, ethics, and unwavering support for those he loved will be remembered by all. His dedication to his businesses, his faith, and his family showcased his commitment to making the world a better place. He will be deeply missed by his friends and the community he was a part of. Craig leaves behind a legacy of joy and positivity that will be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The great king and Reverend Craig L.W.T Wood, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, grandson, brother, and friend, received his wings and made his ascension on October 31, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Robin, his children, Ashley, Amber, Yoshua, Elijah, and his 15 grandchildren: Alanna Saqqara, Amiya Caira, Mikeira TamaRa, Mikey Meroe, Aubrey El'Baharia, Adonis Axum, Tyson, Cehlani Olivia, Khali Luxor, Khaleem Capri, Kyrese, Joaniah Ma'at, Ashyra Simbell, Jonathan, Jr., Ashmunin and Skylar TyRah. He also leaves to mourn his mother, father, grandmother/mom, Olivia, siblings, Betty, Lora, Sam, Vanetha, John, Shakur, Jamecca, Ezekiel, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends who will miss him dearly.
Preceded in death were his grandfather/dad, Johnny, and grandmothers, Vivian and Barbara, his mother-in-law, Laurie, his brother, Syrone, sister, Asheerah, and ancestors who will continue to watch over us all. Ase!
A visitation for Craig will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, South Carolina. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM in the chapel with a committal service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
