Bonnie Manning Henderson, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018. Mrs. Henderson is survived by three children: Arthur Henderson (wife, Lynn) Beth Bagwell (husband, Tony) and Carol Wade (husband, Tim). Mrs. Henderson was proceeded in death by her husband, Alvin R. Henderson, of 65 years.
She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Liza Fleischer, Brian Rauschenbach, Justin Dougherty, Candice Carlton, Victor Wade, and Chloe Henderson, as well as10 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Henderson was born and raised in Thorsby, Alabama. After graduating from Thorsby Institute, she attended Piedmont College and Emory University in Georgia. She met Alvin Henderson, the love of her life, and married in 1952. They moved to Pickens, SC in 1954. Mrs. Henderson completed her Master’s Degree at Clemson University and taught at Pickens Middle School until her retirement.
Visitation services will be held Friday, October 26th, at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home 5:00-7:00 pm. Memorial service will be Saturday, October 27th, at 2:00 at Pickens Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of sending flowers, please send donations, in her honor, to the Pickens Presbyterian Church, 311 W Main St, Cherished Hearts through the Years Project, Pickens, SC 29671. This will help fund renovation of the playground and cemetery.
