Mrs. Barbara LeRoy

Mrs. Barbara Hawkins LeRoy, 78, of Liberty, wife of the late Reverend Julian Ross LeRoy, passed peacefully into the hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born on July 3, 1939, in Central, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Irene Crane Hawkins. Mrs. LeRoy was a faithful servant to her husband’s ministerial career for many years. She was retired from Clemson University with 28 years of service. Barbara attended Pickens Church of God, where she immediately fell in love with the church family.

Surviving are her sister, Rachel Hawkins, her brother, Joe Hawkins and wife Norma, brother-in-law, Bryan Smith, sister-in-law, Pat Hawkins and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister Aleatha Smith and brother John Hawkins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12 noon with the Reverend Chris Swett and Reverend Douglas LeRoy officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family would like to give a sincere thank you to GHS Cancer Center, Manna Health and Rehabilitation- Transitional Care Unit, and Rainey Hospice House, for all of their care, support and compassion during her illness.
