I'm just seeing this. It is so sad to hear that Will's body lay unclaimed at the end of his journey. Rest peacefully my friend in the arms of the Lord.

You were my first boyfriend in high school. Nobody probably knew but we were friends. Rest In Peace my friend May God give your family strength. You fought a good fight now you have finished the course and you have gone to see what the end is for you. Gods speed to you. See you in heaven. Cheryl

I grew up with bro Will he was always easy going and pleasant to talk with. His family has my  deepest condolences.  My God Bless the family in this time of bereavement 



I grew up in the same community and attend the same schools as Will.  Our families were cordial and respectful. My memories of Will is of a person with a  quiet strength.  A person of solid charater and a strong moral base.  I never knew of him to be in conflict with anyone. As I look back, persons of this calaber are few and far between. As a fellow veteran, I am proud that this organization has provided Will with dignity at his lifes end.  Thank you all and God Bless you Will.

It is very unfortunate that I received the news late concerning the passing of my good friend and brother Will Shegog, though we haven't spoken in a few years, whenever we saw each other, we would pick up where we left off.  From our grade school through our high school days, after we were grown, when you returned from the service and even when you completed your Association Degree in Accounting and thereafter, I could never forget our talks, even though I know the roads were rough in your life, you never wanted to be a bother to anybody, if you were hurting you would never tell nobody because you didn't want to be a bother to nobody.  There were so many resources available  you didn't want to be a bother or accept handouts, but one thing you had to accept was the fact that you served in the military and America couldn't treat you as a pauper, no America gives it Soldier a homegoing service with dignity and respect, now you're with your family and another soldier that died in Service your Brother Robert!  Maybe that's why though miles apart we remain brother's at heart!  Love you Bro, Commissioner Robert S. Ellington-Snipes.

God Speed and Fare Well Brother.  We'll see you on the other side.  Sometimes Family doesn't have to be blood related.  Many of us were present in spirit.

William, I didn't know you personally and we aren't related by blood, but you are extended family by virtue of your service. It was my honor to pay my respects today. Till Valhalla brother.

One of my favorite childhood memories, is a project that we (You, Robert and I) spent weeks on. 'Always linked like a chain' we decided this was our family and we would make a family ring. Giving one to everyone Mom and Dad, our brothers and sisters, and when we/they had children we would have rings made for them as well. Big dreams.  We never did have those rings made. But no matter what happened, where we went, how we turned out, or when we saw each other. I still believe that we will forever be connected.

I love you! I am so grateful that I was able to see you face-to-face over the last few years. I am grateful I was able to hug you, tell you I love you, and spend time with you.  In the years before we reunited, I remember passing people on the street and thinking, "Maybe they know my uncle. Maybe they know where I could find him." God answers prayer because we met again years later. 

I am grateful that you let me into your life. I am grateful you let me meet your friends.  I am grateful that you let me see where you lived. I am grateful you rode with me to the store or to a restaurant. I am grateful you were able to speak with your father and your siblings over the phone. I am so glad you told me your story. 

You matter, Uncle Bill. To all of us, you matter. Your fearlessness, your sense of humor, your laughter, your stories, and your love are what we hold on to now.  You are always in our hearts!

We weren't that far apart in age ... but you were the coolest uncle any girl could have.  I am going to miss you terribly.  I love you my Bronco Bill. Aka Uncle Bill.
