On February 17th, 2024, Teresa June Davis passed away peacefully in Hospice Care surrounded by family. She was born on November 12th, 1954, in Muncie, Indiana and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1972 where she met Richard Davis. They married in December of 1974, and he remained the love of her life for nearly 50 years until her passing. Although Teresa and Richard had three children of their own; nieces, nephews, and countless people throughout her life considered her “mom”. She always provided love and care for those around her and a warm, welcoming environment for those entering her home. Teresa’s gift of loving compassion guided her chosen profession. First as a stay-at-home mother selflessly nurturing and encouraging her children, tirelessly volunteering at their schools, and later supporting the growth and encouragement of other children as an administrative assistant in the Peoria School District. After retiring, she loved spending time with her five grandchildren and traveling the country, on sometimes months-long road trips, accomplishing the feat of visiting all 50 states with Richard. A friend, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a wife, an amateur genealogist, a quilter, a lover of all things Disney, and penny slot machine fiend. Teresa was so much to so many. And now she will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband Richard Davis of Glendale, Arizona, three children Andy Davis (Chelle) of Mesa, Arizona, Courtney Ratliff (Arjay) of Glendale, Arizona and Justin Davis (Nicholle) of Peoria, Arizona, five grandchildren Madison, Zachary, Jackson, Adelle, and Raegan, sister Nita Roberts of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and her brother Richard O. Spangler of Sun City West, Arizona. Teresa was preceded in death by her father Richard K. Spangler of Glendale, Arizona and her mother Faye Allerton of Rockaway Beach, Missouri.
The family will share plans for a celebration of life function at a future date.
