Stephen Michael Whitaker was born on September 28, 1945 in Phoenix, AZ. He passed away on August 9, 2016 at the age of 70. The son of Bruce S. Whitaker and Marjorie E. "Nelson" Whitaker. Steve, a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother and grandfather leaves behind his wife Rhonda, daughter Nichole [Travis], sister Susan Claar, grandsons Hunter Pyle, Christian Pyle and Cash Culling along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, mother and sister Sheryl Little.
After serving his country in the Navy SeaBees in Vietnam, he returned to the Valley to begin his long career of installing water systems in many Arizona golf courses, retiring in 2007.
Those who knew Steve, knew him to be a quiet friendly guy. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Arrangements under the direction of Shadow Mountain Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ. A private family service is planned.
