Sharon Lee Cumpston

Sharon "Nana" Lee Cumpston (nee King) born January 13, 1945 in Detroit, MI, given her wings to heaven September 8, 2021. Sharon was born to Fred and Dorothy King, blessed with a second father from Dorothy's remarriage to Leo Deslandes. She made several moves before and during the early years of her over 45 year marriage to Herb Cumpston, who together made permanent residence in 1973 in Phoenix, AZ. Sharon worked most of her years in different fields that always had her joyously interacting with the public. She loved to shop and always had something to say to other shoppers around her. She was also busy making it to every possible sporting event, banquet, performance or anything her 5 grandchildren were doing. This is because her greatest accomplishment was being Nana, and not just to the grandchildren but also their friends, teammates and even others in her neighborhood where so many knew her from her friendly walks.

Sharon is survived by her children Scott (Kerry) Cumpston, Lori (Jim) Livingston, sister Carol Carmen, grandchildren James (Amber) Livingston, Kaylee Cumpston, Kyle Livingston, Brennan Cumpston, Logan Livingston. She also had a grand extension of family with half brothers and sisters Jill, Judy, Joni, Jeff, and Jann along with step brothers and sisters Todd, Scott, Evy, Vicky, and stepmother Gail.

She is preceded in death by parents Fred King and Dorothy Deslandes, step parents Leo Deslandes and Laura King, her husband Herb Cumpston and son Edward Cumpston.

She was a blessing to us all, and greeted everyone with a genuine smile on her face and in her voice and a kiss coming and going.

A celebration of life for Sharon will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 at 3PM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary.
