Ronald John Glomski, born September 15, 1934, passed away on November 14, 2022. Son of Edward Roman and Clara Sophy (Jakubek) Glomski. Ron left behind his loving wife of 59 years, Carol (Chelini); his son William (Bill); and his daughter Patricia (Patty) Rustenburg; his four grandchildren Shelby and Nicholas Rustenberg, Sarah and Nolan Glomski; his son-in-law Steve Rustenburg and daughter-in-law Karen Mattimore; his sister Anne Kelly; and nephews Michael and James Kelly.
Ron was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois enjoying sports and especially the Cubs. Ron attended St. Viator grade school and De Paul Academy High School, graduating Class of 1952.
He worked a short time for Hunting and Fishing Magazine and Consolidated Book Publishers. In 1956 Ron joined and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years with duty on Okinawa and Taiwan. Returning stateside to South Carolina where he received his Honorable Discharge.
Soon thereafter Ron went to work for Shure Brothers (makers of microphones and phonograph cartridges) where he met his future wife, Carol. They were married in May 1964 and lived in Evanston, Illinois for two years when Ron was asked to manage a startup plant in Phoenix, Arizona, Shure Electronics of Arizona.
Ron worked at Shure until 1989. Short employments with variety of other companies led to his retirement in 1997 to battle prostate cancer. Ron went through a variety of treatments until his death.
